On February 20th, ILEA Vancouver took over a prime spot at Ventura Room, and despite it being a busy hockey night, the place was buzzing with both game-day energy and our own lively crowd of event pros.
Huge thanks to Hailey Heise, Marketing Manager of Brown's Socialhouse & The Ventura Room, and Patrick Cantin-Gayton, Assistant General Manager of the Queen Elizabeth & The Ventura Room, for their incredible hospitality. They not only gave us a spacious section but also let us sneak a peek at their cozy upstairs space - though let’s be honest, the entire venue was packed, from the main floor to the tented patio, where you could see the dance lights flashing and silhouettes moving behind the thick white tent covers - on a Thursday, popular spot!
Speaking of live entertainment, we had a surprise guest: a talented violinist from Toronto by the name of Brigit Fiddle scoping out Vancouver’s scene. She gave us and all the venue patrons an impromptu performance during a break in the hockey game, proving that live music can elevate any moment - yes, even during power plays.
Now, about the photos… One of our very own board members - DJ Pri - stepped in to capture the magic of the night to share with you. Were they professionally lit, crystal-clear masterpieces? Not exactly. Do they have a certain gritty, behind-the-scenes documentary aesthetic? Sure, let’s go with that. Let’s just say, she got the job done lol.
